Faith over fear

This COVID-19 outbreak has been taking an emotional toll on me, it refrains me from doing the things that I’m supposed to do. My emotions get the best of me most of the time and I can’t seem to focus. I keep on overthinking about almost everything — my future, how the world is getting worse, and how it’s nearing to an end etc. Three months ago, who would’ve thought that it’s going to be this worse? I’m just really grateful that we have a home to live comfortably in, we have enough food to eat, and we have all that we need. There’s still a lot to be thankful for. But seeing the news, the posts, and the videos about our fellow countrymen who struggle to have food on their plates, especially now that the entire island is in a lock down and under enhanced community quarantine — they couldn’t earn money to spend for their daily living. In addition to that, the homeless people are clueless about what’s happening; it breaks my heart seeing how greatly affected they are by this outbreak.

It speaks that not all the time, we are standing strong. We are not always in control no matter how brilliant one is; we need to bend our knees, bow down to the ultimate source of life - GOD. It entails that no matter how intelligent a human is, the thoughts of God are the highest. It reveals that humanity can do nothing without God. It realizes that in just a second or a snap, everything may stop, may change and may be gone. It echoes the adage, “at the end of the day, you will still be home with your family.” No wealth is tantamount to health and at the end of life, we will all be judged by God. May we all use this time for self-evaluation and recreation, family interaction, loved ones & friends’ affirmation, financial planning, and spiritual renewal.
